She did it again!

I was missing for most of the day yesterday, ‘running from Billy to Jack’!  This time, the phrase ‘running from Billy to Jack’, is a metaphor for being busy, though I did meet a few nice toyboys on my travels.

The morning had an hour of sorting, cleaning and all things household before I headed out to do a little shopping for somebody else. Then it was time to have the thatch chopped, so I happily returned to the new hairdresser I found in January.

Back for a quick lunch before heading over to Larne for my little beauty’s turn to face the annual MOT.

My Pride & Joy.

This is an old photo from a previous test but she gleamed like a new pin yesterday. By lunchtime the sun was shining, and everyone was in cheerful mood. The examiner was a little Pet and he took my treasure through the hoops in record time. Soon he was smiling and waving the certificate at me.

Now with brighter and longer days I am ready for longer distant driving!

Adventure, here I come!

gigi - I learned to drive at seventeen. My present car makes a short journey for me to visit family and friends.

Driving might be safer for you than walking. If i recall, you tripped over a curve and smashed your face.

GFB - All cars and motorcycles 4 years old and over must undergo an annual MOT test, and the cost is £30.50.

mayo - It is much easier to drive uphill than walking! Long may my car live.

I was hoping the Atlantic would freeze over just long enough for you to drive over here! We have a bed you can use. But, alas, it failed to freeze for yet another year … although the people on the East Coast may disagree with me on that!

Fossie - Don’t tempt me…. But if Mayo heard I was landing on the East coast, I might never be heard of again! ;) I wonder would the car run on Red Top?

It’s rumored that it is the Red Top that keeps the Atlantic from freezing at all. Your car on Red Top would be running it on rocket fuel!

I see both you and Foss have it figured out–hiccup!!

Fossie - The worry is: Would the Red Top fumes have me flying, never mind the car?

mayo - Almost. That is if you have any Red Top left?

WWW - My car means total independence for me and certainly shortens the road to Elly.

Like you, I’d sure hate not to have my independence waiting in the garage for me whenever I need it even if I’m not fond of driving. Thankfully Hubby grew up without a car so he still likes to drive.

Alice - If I do not drive, there is nobody else to do so for me. I cannot expect Elly & George to travel over a hundred miles each way to come and drive me about.
