Art with My Needle ~ Week 44

My wool project is proving rather slow this week.  Gallivanting and lunching with friends are proving an easy distraction.

In the mean time I have a cushion with a difference.  It was made by my sister.

“Nothing spectacular!” I hear you say, a plain brown granny square.  Well this is the back.  The interest is in the front.

The front of the cushion is completed with rug canvas and rug wool.  The back can be worked in any toning fabric.  It certainly makes for very comfortable sitting.

Now that has given me an idea……..!

So it’s a sort of mimi carpet to sit on? Great idea. I am enjoying the paw prints on the back of the chair :)

Creative indeed. Lovely to read about it. I’ve never been much of a craft person but I do like to look at things that I don’t usually do an learn something.

I’m with Rhyelysgranny, I did not know you had a dog.
You should probably keep it out of the flour before you let it walk on your furniture.

I think that I can guess what your idea is likely to be. I shall confirm truthfully if I was right or wrong when you post about it.

    Grannymar,

Did your dog once belong to Fred Astaire who taught him how to dance up the back of a chair, across the ceiling and down the other side?

RG - It is a great thick seat cushion either for inside or on the garden bench.

Gaelikaa - There will be time for crafts when the children grow up!

Mayo - There are two dogs and they belong to my sister.

Ramana - I will be interested to know what your guess is.

Nancy - These are amazing dogs!

Speaking of dogs: Did you hear about the fellow who mentioned to his pal that he was thinking of getting a black Lab?

His friend said, “Are you crazy, do you know how many people go blind when they get those dogs.”

Nancy’s levity cannot be topped so I will just say, that’s a beautiful chair cushion.
