Grannymar, Thank you for stopping by my blog :)
I used the link you provided to help on a new tea cosy
and it turned out really cute... very basic with some
button stitches and French knots. I am still learning,
but I look forward to trying out more of the stitches
on the link you gave. I put on my blog that you
posted the link and I mentioned your blog... I hope
you don't mind.

Have a wonderful weekend! Kimme

Brighid - That made me laugh. I could never manage crochet holding it in the prescribed way. I held it like knitting and never looked back.

WWW - Being honest the post today was in rather a hurry and I wondered what I could share in a short couple of minutes. Thankfully it proved helpful. That site has a wonderful A to Z list of stitches and variations - with diagrams.

Love to see old stiches brought to life again. Judy: I had the devil of a time learning to knit and crochet, tell Himself's granny sat down opposite me and showed me how.

Marian - It is a very simple stitch and suitable for playing with.

Judy H - how confusing for you. With cross stitch or needlepoint it does not matter so long as all the stitches are worked in the same direction. I must say I find it relaxing.

I enjoy needlepoint! I have a problem with which hand to use or which side of my brain is in control-I'm ambidextrous, which caused a problem when I tried to knit! So when I tried needlepoint I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't backwards and I enjoy doing it, especially pillowcases, usally I give them to newly weds. I'm still a beginner, but when I do it, I find it relaxes me. I'm going to try your stitch.
