Beware the Fever
Ireland has been struck by Fever once more. It happens around this time every year.
We all heard of the
- Celtic Tiger Flu - with a long slow recovery
- Swine Flu – with all the jokes
- Seasonal Winter Flu with coughs and sneezes &
- Now we have the Blog Bug…..
This hear Blog Bug sets the whole country into a frenzy of reading, cogitating, deliberating and selecting of their own special favourites. Why you may ask?
It is all because the Nominations are now open for the 2010 Irish Blog Awards.
This year there will be a total of 20 different categories to choose from plus the category ‘Best Blog Post’ for that special single post you found stayed with you long after reading it.
A blog can be nominated in any category by anyone, but the blog owner can only accept nominations in one category (with the exception of Best Blog Post) to move the blog forward into the judging rounds. To be nominated the blog has to have been actively blogging between May and December 2009. Winners of each category will be sent forward into the Grand Prix category where they will compete for the title of “Best Blog 2010″.
So put your thinking cap on, there are plenty of worthy blogs out there to choose from, but hurry up there are only about 12 days to send in nominations.
The event itself will be held on March 27th in Galway, and from previous experience a great party is in store for all who attend.
Now the show must go on… so I am off to finish my LBC post for 1500 hours GMT. See you then.

“you give me fever
when you kiss me
fever when you hold me tight
Fever
In the morning
Fever all through the night
Everybodies got the fever
That is somethin you all know
Fever is’nt such a new thing
Fever start long ago
Romeo love Juliet
Juliet she felt the same
When he put his arms around her
He said Julie baby your my flame
Now give me fever
When were kissin
Fever with that flame in you
Fever
I’m a fire
Fever yeah i burn for you”
Above, some of the lyrics to “You Give me fever”
You give all of us a fever with your postings, thank you for that. Hope you win.

Rhyleysgranny - I sent my nominations off on Wednesday and NO, I did not vote for myself. I thought carefully about my choices over the last couple of months and had my list ready.
Kimme & Darlene - Nominations or not, it is a great night of good craic and I hope to join in and catch up with all my friends.
Maynard - I love the singing….. but I think you should keep up the day job!
Ramana - I know you are a wise old owl… but I don’t you have the results yet…. sure the nominations have only started.
Brighid - A national treasure! There are days when I feel that old.
