Actually they are foot gloves with a "finger" for each toe. They allow a spring up from the arch as opposed to walking, where the heel goes down 1st, then foot rolls to toe. As for the thing about cleanliness...You've got to eat a peck of dirt before you die. We were brought up on unpasteurised milk...and cheese...we ate carrots straight from the ground..and radishes...we played in the dirt and so forth.. but we were fed well and we exercised well purely because of our life style...not every one had those advantages but nowadays...it's clean this , clean that... over cook your eggs. Want to avoid salmonella in eggs? Clean the outsides before you crack them.! Large gyms are potentially unhealthy places to be as shared equipment gets contaminated with bacteria from sweat. Community-acquired MRSA is a big problem in the US and gyms are a known source of these skin infections.

I’d much prefer the great outdoors any day!

There does seem to be a correlation between and the toxic stuff we put in the air and illnesses like autism. I think our carpets made of synthetic fibers are enough to do us in.
