Seasonal Singing

A little Seasonal Singing!

A group of silent monks (High School Students) perform the Hallelujah Chorus.

With thanks to David Braziel from whom I stole it.  Enjoy!

I would give my arm and leg to see that live somewhere. I just love to see young kids do things like this. I bet that God up there enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you.

Seen it before but enjoyed it nonetheless.

    It’s very clever.

    Halleluia!

Very funny. I went to see the Sydney Symphony doing Handel’s Messiah once and was bored to the boots until the Hallelluja Chorus. Nowhere near as entertaining as this and a damn sight more expensive!

lovely!! I stole it quite shamelessly for my blog!!

P.S. - Am having trouble seeing anything under the “flamer” photograph - is it me or you? I get an “endif” code and nothing else below that - just thought that it was worth letting you know.

Ramana - I thought it hit the right note for today! If you find out where it is on live, I’ll come along too.

Dorothy - Glad you enjoyed it.

Steph - I bet you will be singing it all day!

Baino - I have been to live performances many times, but this was soooooo different!

Sam - I hope your readers enjoy it. Thanks for letting me know about the difficulty. It seems fine now again.

Reminds me of the famous Bob Dylan video where he holds up a series of placards and peels them off one by one. I can’t help wondering what the monks look like under the clothing. And how do we know they’re genuine monks? They might all be postmen.

I had the same problem as Sam but it’s okay now.

Nick - They are school students. Sorry that you had difficulty yet again with my blog. You are a saint to keep trying.

    Grannymar,

I loved this. Such clever kids!

I once went to one of my Grandson’s Chorus concerts and as part of the program they sang a very lively song from Grease without making a sound.

The entire song was done in sign language because they had a deaf classmate and they thought she would enjoy it… As a matter of fact, we ALL enjoyed it…

Priceless and to be enjoyed by many as a result of this post…

This reminds me of a piece of obscure musical knowledge:
You may remember a song which goes “Yes! We have no bananas. We have no bananas today.”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT6JkceQ9FU (about 1minute in)

and the song “My Bonnie lies over the ocean”
Chorus ends Bring back my bonnie to me…

Well the music goes like this:

Haleluliah! Bananas! Bring back my bonny to me!

    It works….

    Err sorry!

Maynard - You will have to watch your language. I found you in the sin bin, all because you used the word ‘wow’! That has to be a first!

Nancy - A song in sign language, what a wonderful idea.

Magpie - I do remember both songs. My granny was always playing games with songs just as you describe…. she was full of fun… I still miss her!

George - Rather. I missed you and hope all is well in your corner.
