Antrim Castle Gardens

Driving through the grounds of Antrim Castle to Clotworthy House

The Long Canal

And around the corner

And there are more

A whole family

Now don’t forget…. I’ll be back at five (my time) waving, singing and shouting!

Grannymar, a good friend of mine has recently posted pictures of the Island she lives on close to Galway called Leitir Móir.

I thought you might enjoy the pictures she took.

Hi DD, Thanks for the link. The island looks wonderful and the peace and silence seeps out of the pictures and into ones soul.

For readers from other lands, this island is off the west coast of Ireland in the wonderful Galway Bay.

Grannymar, I don’t think Leitir Mor is an Island. I spent a gaeltacht summer there as a teenager and I don’t recall getting a boat to travel there. It was a bus. I’m sure of it. I’d never forget that place. I learnt some stuff out there I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Well, maybe there was a bridge like a road or something. After seeing those photos I suppose it is possible……

Thanks Grannymar and Darragh for your lovely comments… It took so long to sort that page out, but I love visiting home, it’s so peaceful there.
And also, it is an Island, which is connected by stone bridges. Years ago, people used to take the Currach out to the mainland.

Hope you enjoy the photographs! Smiles.

Gaelikaa - The answer is below in Maire’s comment.

Maynard - I was surprised the ducks allowed me to get so close, particularly where the ducklings were.

Maire - Welcome to my blog. I did indeed enjoy your photos and appreciated the time it took to add all of them to your post. Keep up the good work.

Grannymar, you are famous in my eyes.
Saw you months on The Afternoon Show, and meant to sign up to your blog. Here I am, all signed up now. Huge smiles! Thank you.

Marie - Most people talk about knowing somebody ‘Before they were famous’, You can say “I remember GM when she was famous, pity it only lasted 10 minutes”

Now I am just a little ould lady with a wonky hip!!

Grannymar, had the ducks known that Maynard was your friend, I doubt that they would have let you so near them. Back to Clotworthy now are we?

Ramana - Back to the same area indeed.

I moved very slowly and quietly and had they shown signs of unrest, I would have turned and walked back from whence I came.
