Clotworthy House
The grounds at Clotworthy House in Antrim, the County Town of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, where the Sixmile Water enters Lough Neagh.
Peeping a little closer…
Now I am off to add the finishing touches to my LBC contribution for this week. See you at 5pm - Irish time!

That is an intriguing name. Any idea why it is called so?

Clotworthy House was built around 1840 as a stable block for Antrim Castle It also provided living accommodation for grooms and stable lads with an inclosed exercise yard and stables at the rear.
It has been used in recent years as an arts workshop,Theatre and studio. The architect is unknown. A major restoration and development scheme of just under £6 million at Antrim Castle Gardens has come a step closer with the recent temporary closure of Clotworthy Arts Centre, which together with some of the buildings surrounding the original farmyard is scheduled for refurbishment. I have never discovered how it got its name. Maybe Nellybert can help.

With a definite autumnal chill in the air today, your pretty pic makes me long for a balmy summer’s day
ps Your header is funny… I think it’s improved the name no end!

Steph - How would I manage without you to correct my spelling? It serves me right for trying to post at 1am in the morning!

Magpie - You may be correct, but I have no TV to say either way. The area about Clotworthy has appeared several times on my blog.

I have yet to cross the ocean to visit your emerald isle. In the meantime, these travel posts of yours serve to quench my thirst for travel.

Marianna - The price we pay for the rain is rewarded by by our greenery and a small island of many hidden beauty spots. I had visitors recently and they asked to see ‘My Northern Ireland’, places off the radar of the tourist Coaches!

I like hearing about Ireland. (I spent 5 weeks there on a dairy farm, many years ago.) I particularly love your pictures. So green
