Sad is not Bad

You must learn that it is OK to be sad.

The Sad is not to be ashamed of.

The Sad is a part of life.

But it is to be a ladder to greater things, not a stone that is thrown at you and makes you fall.

You must take The Sad and let it grow you.

You must climb up.

You must let pain make you stronger and wiser.

The Sad is not your enemy unless you let it attach to you and choke you, and pull you down.

You must feel The Sad before you can leave it behind you.

Everything happens for a reason, it is true.

But that does not mean you cannot have The Sad, for a time.

    Talking Happy Talk!…

I like Tomases approach …. I love the idea of “The Sad”…. does “The happy” come around in turn do you think?

Indeed, nothing wrong with being sad now and again. Otherwise how would you truly appreciate its opposite, happiness?

@Magpie - I think that sometimes we need to allow ‘The Happy’ in.

@Nick - Sometimes we have to travel through the dark tunnel to see and appreciate the light.

    @Judy - I agree.

Another of my favourite ideas someone opined somewhere… Happiness is not to be actively sought or pursued. It’s something that happens from time to time on the journey of life.

    Helped me at the time….

    Ramana,

How did you manage to get into the spam bucket yesterday? I hope you were not lonely in there.

@Ashok - Glad you enjoyed it.

“you have to go through the sad to appreciate the happy” I don’t agree. I’ve been both a few times but the sad keeps coming back.
Some days it’s hardly worth chewing through the restraints.

    Marie,

    Hello and welcome.

It is always worth chewing through the restraints to find the ‘happy’. You must also WANT to let the sunshine in and not be afraid to be happy. The more you allow the ‘happy’ into your life the less space there is for the ’sad’!
