Wi-fi in the Classroom
Take wi-fi out of class: teacher
A County Tyrone teacher has called for wireless products, known as wi-fi, to be taken out of classrooms because of health concerns.
While I recover from the shock… you can read the article here.
Come on, I know you have thoughts on this and I would love to hear them.

We’re surrounded by radio waves all the time - from the TV, the radio, the microwave, remote controls, mobile phones. Are we all dead and dying? I think not. This is just unscientific paranoia.

My feeling exactly.

Just think…we have enough hotheads as it is… I do wonder about all this technology at times….. not always from this type of viewpoint either.

The detrimental effects of carbon monoxide fumes are proven. Is the same man calling for a ban on motor cars?

@Magpie - I knew a teacher who locked the book cupboard because the primary 6/7s were reading too fast! Thankfully I had chosen not to send Elly to that school.
@Ian - You couldn’t ban motor cars, the parents need them to drive their little darlings right to the school gate!

What a trogladite. He’s probably the type of teacher who would ask students to ‘uninstall’ Facebook and Hotmail. Seriously! My boss asked me to do that . .uninstall everyone’s Hotmail! Sheesh

@WWW - I sometimes wonder if we are moving towards a world of brainwashed zombies.
@Judy - Weird indeed.
@Baino - I wonder if ‘Mr Boss’ knows how to open his email?

Well…the effects of lead on our children were realised an that was banned in petrol …. as for CO …you breathe in more riding in a car than walking or cycling due to the effects of “ventilation” in cars…. they scoop it up and concentrate it inside the cars….
In the UK I don’t think we prescribe Ritalin for independent thinking…just for being over active and violent….I’d rather we had more time to tire them out physically…or parents let them run wild in the great outdoors for a change…smash the squared eyed idols I say!
I’ll reserve my judgement on electromagnetic radiation…but remember the RAF boys would stand themselves in front of the Radar transmitters before going on a night out

Magpie,
I agree about children being allowed to play and run around out of doors.
By squared eyed idols do you mean TVs or computers?
