Where was I?

Time to reveal the answer to my mystery outing yesterday.  I was here:

Glenoe Waterfall, Co Antrim

From the car park, the path leads through trees. There is a network of paths and steps, slippy and uneven in places, that meander up and down the sides of the valley to give good views of the waterfall.  The land is owned by The National Trust.

This last one is for the Flickr folk!

How to get there: On the B99, 4 miles south of Larne. Bus route 170.

Ooooh! I feel another song coming on…

    “I’m singing in the rain
    Just singing in the rain
    What a glorious feelin’
    I’m happy again
    I’m laughing at clouds
    So dark up above
    The sun’s in my heart
    And I’m ready for love
    Let the stormy clouds chase
    Everyone from the place
    Come on with the rain
I’ve a smile on my face
    I walk down the lane
    With a happy refrain
    Just singin’,
    Singin’ in the rain” :D

I love waterfalls! The best one I ever saw, other than Niagara Falls, was in Hawaii, called Akaka Falls. Over 400′ tall and gorgeous!

Tallest water fall in the world is Angel Fall in Venezuala…

I would love to visit a waterfall with a cave hidden behind it!…… I bet there are some great ferns near your fall GM!

@Steph - You brought on the rain! We had sunshine until 6.15 this evening. I was in the garden for most of the day.

@Judy - I love the sound of water and the rustle of leaves. The trees were still a little bare this year. The waterfall is is in a small valley that feels almost intimate and magical. I had the place to myself.

@Magpie - I will have to pay more attention to the ferns from now on.

    Grannymar,

    I can’t hear you singin’

The rain arrived here mid-afternoon and I got soaked when I stopped at the supermarket on way home.

That’s it, we’ve had our summer now!

    @ Steph,

What a great laugh you gave me when when you said,” That’s it, we’ve had our Summer now.”

You have a wonderful sense of humor…….

I think I’ve seen signs for the waterfall but never actually been there. It looks spectacular, I really must go.

I was Rector of that church from 1996 until 1999 (it was part of Larne parish). Next time you are there, would you pay my respects at the grave of Tom McCammon - it’s to the left of the gate against the wall.

@Steph - I managed to put away all my gear and lock up before the rain started. My face is glowing tonight. Rest day tomorrow.

@Nancy - I am hoping we get more than three days of sunshine this year.

@Nick - It is a lovely little spot.

@Ian - I will make a point of going that direction someday again soon.

A picturesque scene indeed, Grannymar. I love waterfalls. So majestic yet graceful. There’s nothing more soothing to me than the sound of a waterfall.

    Brilliant shots, G. :)

    Baino forgive me!

I found you lurking in a dish of spam, and didn’t get the lifebelt to you soon enough. I know you mentioned something about liking waterfalls.

This has happened here a couple of times now and I also think that Steph & Grandad lost you too at some stage. Are there changes on your blog or is it the air in the northern hemisphere that s causing trouble?

Cooooooeeeeeeee! You hoooo! I’m here! Down here where the emus will kick yer dunny down! Honest injun! Get me out of your spam box!

I comment every day except sometimes on the hints and tips because my house smells like vinegar and bicarb so I have to give ‘em a rest for a while! Nup, Steph responds so I know I’m registering there. I don’t comment too often on Grandad’s but I read it every day!

Pretty waterfalls, they’re a rare occurence here except in the Wet!

Ok! Ok! Baino, I had taken the spam box to task and released you. Hopefully I now have it sorted. Enjoy your photowalk while we sleep.
