Thursday Special ~ Overheard in Cork

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other cubicle saying:
‘Hi, how are you?

I’m not the type to start a conversation in the ladies room. I don’t know what got into me, but I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
‘I’m grand!’

And the other person says:
‘So what are you up to?’

What kind of question is that? At that point, I’m thinking this is crazy so I say:
‘Uhhh, I’m like you, just sitting here.’

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question:
‘Can I come over?’

Ok, this question is just too weird for me.  I figured I could politely end the conversation. I say:
‘No……..I’m a little busy right now!!!’

Then I hear the person say, nervously:
‘Listen, I’ll have to call you back.  There’s an idiot in the other cubicle who keeps answering all my questions!!

Hahaha! Brilliant! Used always happen to me on trams when people used to answer hands free! I would always go to say “sorry I dont speak German!” then realise they were on the phone!

@Hails - Glad to make you smile.

@Steph - I was far too busy with my trail of real toyboys on their knees outside!

@Stephen - I often make that mistake… I put it down to age.

Excellent! I do the same thing to Answering machines before I realise that it’s a voice recording. Very embarrassing.

Thanks for the chuckle, that was cute! I’d have to say the fool though, was the one who was having a cell conversation with someone while THEY WERE SITTING ON THE TOILET! yuck!

    Maureen,

Not the best place to have a phone conversation, I agree!

Thanks for a great laugh. I’ve done this sort of thing myself. Talk about embarrassment!
