Reply: Mmmmmmmmm !
Steel grey sky.
Snow on the hills behind my house.
Ashes cleaned out from fire place.
Ash dust on mantle shelf.
Fire lit.
Porridge eaten.
Hugging warm coffee cup.
Heavy overcoat and Russian hat going on as I head off on today’s adventures.
Your heat is beyond my comprehension.
Stay sane.

Two very different worlds.
Isn’t it a pity we couldn’t find a happy medium with the weather to keep everyone happy?
More snow is on the way, Grannymar
Hope you’ve got your thick woolly socks at the ready

@Magpie - Those particular males were lucky…. I normally call them worse names!
@Steph - It is very cold here today. I made a warming curry for lunch and turned up the heat!
Friday’s update from down under told me that temps was 45.7 at 4.11 pm. Lots of people drinking too much & not going to work. The Southern Cross Observation Wheel a smaller version of the London Eye
has buckled in the heat & will be out of action for some time
340 trains were cancelled, power rationing on a rotating basis is in operation.
Fires are burning in the Strzelecki ranges ( normally green country) we are safe enough as there are no trees near us.
59 degrees on the tarmac at Melbourne Airport yesterday in the open!
We have no idea…..!

There’s a very sensational story in the London Independent today saying Australia is on the point of collapse if these high temperatures continue. I think somehow the Aussies will manage to survive slightly tropical conditions for a while.

Nick,
I think that the Australians cope so much better than we do with a little frost or a few inches of snow!

Erm, we’re OK. Adelaide’s still sweltering, Melbourne has cooled down Sydney is in for the heat wave later this week. In the 40’s on the weekend. It’s not unusual, just the duration is a little longer than expected. The fires in the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland are under control and thunderstorms expected this arvo. We’re not about to collapse although the Melbourne Railways are still disrupted. A nice snowstorm would be very welcome right about now! Hope your bro is OK!

Baino,
I think Little Bro would love a snowstorm right now!
Stay safe.
