Magpie,

To be honest I have not tried it on a modern “environmentally friendly” bulb. It should work since the heat is the secret weapon.

Well I did think that might be it...we always had to put a X and and a O with a dot in the middle for a hug on letters to relations...

Nancy...... just spray (or dab)a a little perfume on a delicate hanky and leave it in warm place...now, I leave you to work out where that could be...but I suppose that when you repair to another room you can take it with you. I have been known to do something fairly similar with my Blenheim Bouquet when the environmental oils run out.

Before any one asks Blenheim Bouquet is by Penhalligon and was Churchill's choice of male perfume......they do some wonderful women's perfumes too!....

BTW GM...does it work with these modern headache inducing "environmentally friendly" bulbs?

Spray a little perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely light scent when the light is turned on.

Grannymar,

If you think I am going to use up my precious EVENING IN PARIS perfume to spray a light bulb , you are wrong. Maybe some TABU ,but that's as far as I will go.

Perhaps if I got a call from George Clooney...Ah,now that would make a difference...For George I would even spray my last trace of a famous parfum I bought from that street vender in Paris. CHANEL # 2

@Judy - I have had this tip for years but alas cannot remember who it was that told me. I have loose pages and scraps of paper with handy hints gathered over many, many years. Thankfully now I am able to put them to good use.

@Nick - You should write a note to yourself as a reminder - but don't put it in the freezer! :roll:

@Steph - That sounds intriguing!

@WWW - If you have any problem with Aspirin , don't swallow the denture tablets.

@Magpie - Sage calms the nerves, improves digestion and eases lung congestion and coughs. So when you are feeling calm, a party is go! :D

I regularly steep my coffee and tea beakers. I fill them with water and add a few drops of either white vinegar or household bleach. Twenty minutes later they are like new. I wash them in the normal way before use.

Magpie, I thought you were an old romantic! The 'X' and 'O' used by Wisewebwoman are a kiss and a hug.
X = kiss
O = hug

@rummuser - I am pleased the hints are helpful.

What does the sage do?

Thanks for the one about the tomato stain avoidance! I wonder if a quick wipe with olive oil would do the same?

There used to be a biological powder that would remove teas stains from anything.....so at College I never had a stained plastic mug.

BTW does the XO that wwoman uses refer to Cognac or some thing else?
