Handy Hints for Wednesday ~ 7

Check you have plenty of new or recharged batteries for tomorrow.

Train a dog to stop barking. Squirt some lemon juice in the dog’s mouth and say “Quiet.”

Nuts to furniture scratches. That’s right - rub the scratched surface with the cut surface of either a walnut or a brazil nut. It will cover those scratches.

Use dental floss to temporarily replace a broken shoe lace.

To remove crayon marks from clothing or walls – use a baby wipe.

I recharged about a dozen AA batteries yesterday in preparation. Mostly for my flash so all the photos come out bright and cheerful! :)

Is baking soda, vinegar or the walnut tricks there any good for erasing the hangover I hope to have about this time tomorrow? One glass for the trifle, one glass for me, etc. ;)

    Happy Christmas, my dear friend.

    Grannymar,

About that dental floss tip… Funny, I use shoelaces when I’m out of dental floss.

I can do that because I have what they call “Prairie Teeth”….Wide open spaces….

Do the nuts work on a wood floor?

Seasonal Greetings to all at Grannymar’s abodes, real and virtual.

By the way…all my presents are being wrapped this year in…newspaper.. I got that idea from an ex pupil!!!! She’s vegan too! Just got a couple to go.

    Magpie,

I don’t have wooden floors but I cannot see it doing any harm. Try it in a corner and come back and tell us!

I have in the past used broen paper and string to wrap a gift parcel but never newspaper. My only worry is that the print would come off on hands or clothes! Happy wrapping!
