Cleaning windows is always one of those jobs that makes me feel good! The results are always so immediately obvious..like polishing the furniture or shoes or silver cutlery (If you have some!).

Once, when my Mother was 84 years old I was visiting and she told me that she couldn’t see a thing anymore.

I was surprised because I had been taking her for regular visits to the opthomologist. I called him and reported to his nurse that my Mother needed an immediate appointment because she couldn’t see clearly. I was told that they had an appointment open in two weeks but I said that wouldn’t do. She must see the doctor right away. Something was very wrong that she couldn’t see a thing anymore. The nurse told me to bring her the next morniing.

As I went to sit down I glanced over at my Mother who was sitting in the light of a window and I looked through her glasses and I couldn’t see a thing.

Her glasses were so smudgy and hadn’t been cleaned for days. I took them to the bathroom and gave them a good cleaning and when I gave them back to her she exclaimed,” Oh, Thank God, I can see again. It’s the miracle I’ve been praying for.”

I will have to take your word for it since I have no TV

No wonder everything on the telly seems so dirty these days
