What a delight - love the accent! I’ll have to try the tip with the vinegar on my poor old dry hands.

Grannymar, does vinegar work on feet, too? Mine sure need something.

Congrats…congrats Grannymar! I am so happy for you. That’s fantastic. RTE should offer you a cooking/tips show. :)

My granduncle used to have terrible allergies, but he doesn’t anymore. He takes a concoction of vinegar and honey every morning and is free of it.

Thanks for hacking it in, Elly. :)

I tried to tune into this yesterday via the web, but RTE only let web users in Southern Ireland access it. So Thank you very much to Elly for loading this up for the rest of us.

    GM - You’re such a star!
Very gracious and personable - and you look wonderful. Well done indeed.
Glad I got to see it.

And, I have to ask, how was the toyboy talent at the RTE studios?…

    Cheers.

Some links from the show’s website:

Top Tips to make life easier in the home.

On Today’s Show. They wrote “we have special guest super ‘Grannymar’ in to give us a few household tips and tricks”.

I like that - Super Grannymar.

Elly, being naughty as usual with your mammy’s Internet doings? ;)

Great appearance, GM - made a nice change from the noise of Console Gaming. I just wonder how many people were thinking less of me for watching the Afternoon show right in the middle of the room…

@everyone - No problem, since I’m in the US at the moment I had no chance of catching the show. The thanks should really go to my husband, George for recording, converting, editing, re-converting and uploading it so that I could get my hands on the file, mine was really the easier job!

@d@\/e She did indeed use the wooden spoon on me (or at least the threat of it!). I’m hoping she’s not mad, especially since you guys are so happy to see it.

Brilliant, Grannymar, you looked so calm and relaxed too. Well done. Vinegar and newspaper really is great for cleaning windows - hadn’t heard of most of the others though.

Nice one Elly. I had to wait to get home to ‘hear’ it as my speakers at work don’t! She’s certainly a cool cucumber!

Thanks Elly for stealing my blog for the day to recall my five minutes of fame!

For all my friends I have only one question…

Who was yer wan on the show????

Thanks for all the kind words. It was fun, alas it is now back to Cinderella chores!

    I’m late again..and I said I was coming straight over GM…

    ‘Twas brilliant! Well done.

Now about the future…we have just had some trouble with couple of
foul mouthed comedians on the BBC….and I do know a couple of people up there.

On a serious note I rat that little clip.

    Well done Elly and Hubby!

So that’s what the phone call was about.

Quick question on the table saving measure, do you mean brasso and the like to remove those rings?

    Will

  27. Grannymar said,

    November 7, 2008 at 9:13 am

    Will

Yes, Brasso was what I had in mind to remove a white ring from a polished table. Since ‘Brasso’ is a trade name I was not sure about the advertising rules on RTE.

@Paddy - You will have to model those undergarments for us!

@Judy - The vinegar should work on your feet as well as hands. It is also good for ‘athlete’s foot’! It will feel like iced water when you put your hands or feet in there!

Hi Grannymar, well done on TV. It’s funny, I saw the last part of that clip recently on the breakfast re-run and the thought stuck me that the person reminded me of you. It was your voice from your podcasts that reminded me. Glad to have it confirmed it was you. You should have your own TV program.
