He smoked Phillies cigars and ran the local Knights of Columbus. Every once and awhile he would take me with him, sit me in a booth and feed me french fries (chips) and soda while he worked. He use to curse at other drivers on the road and make me promise not to tell my mother. I never did. He use to call VW Beetles, 'Those god-damn tin cans'. He was born in 1888, one hundred years before my son was born. Sorry for all that but your post brought back a bunch of memories of him. My grandfather Flannagan lived with us when I was a kid. I'm sitting here typing this with one hand as I have a 5-6 week old kitten asleep in my other arm. He came to us last night via Animal Rescue. I know you don't like cats but this little one is a real sweetie. My other cat is not quite so enamoured with our new arrival. The kitten is grey/black with a white bib and four white paws. We think we'll call him 'Oscar', our award winning cat! I hope my long deceased Grandad Oscar (whom I never met), doesn't mind us using his name. Anyone got any other fun ideas for names?
