What’s in a Name
I like being Grannymar. I was given this name in 1973. I have taken to it like a well worn glove. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I don’t question myself anymore. I’ve even earned the right to be wrong.
I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be.
And I shall eat dessert for breakfast if I feel like it …!

And Grannymar you shall always be. Even if people do sometimes confuse you with Granny.
Never regret the past. What’s done is done.
I’m off now to pour a bottle of Guinness over my corn flakes…..

Grandad,
Cornflakes & Guinness…… they say a little of what you fancy does you good!
As for the past, it has gone and nobody can change it, not even God!

Grannymar,
You are so very clever! You’ve said in a few words what this great work also explains.
Omar Khayyam:
” The moving finger writes and having writ,
Moves on: Nor all your piety nor wit,
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
Nor all your tears wash out a word of it.”

You know, cold pizza for breakfast isn’t half bad either.

Grannymar . . you always say something calming and prophetic when I’m feeling anxious and remorseful. In fact, you’re my pre-breakfast pick-me-up every morning. I hope I get to feel that comfort with myself before too long

Baino - and there was I nattering away to myself! Hope it helped.
Betty - I always taught Elly that in life when you make a decision, you have to be prepared to live with the consequences.
Joy - Sweet Mince Pies are my downfall with a little Pooh Bear Ice Cream on the side!
(Not really at breakfast time though).
